Dr. Kristen Pumphrey
Dr. Pumphrey is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee and she and her family now reside in Johnson City, Tennessee.

Dr. Pumphrey received her optometry degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While there, she received an award for outstanding co-management clinical skills and graduated with Honors.
​
Following her optometry school education, Dr. Pumphrey completed a residency in Cornea and Contact Lens and NSU Oklahoma College of Optometry, where she specialized in laser surgery, pediatrics, and difficult soft and rigid contact lens fitting.Her contact lens training includes correction for many difficult corneal diseases such as keratoconus and post-surgical contact lens fitting.

Dr. Pumphrey is a board certified Therapeutic Optometrist and is proficient in the treatment and management of glaucoma and ocular disease. Dr. Pumphrey is an active member in the American Optometric Association, the Tennessee Optometric Association, the Northeast Tennessee Optometric Society, and the American Academy of Optometry.

When Dr. Pumphrey isn’t checking eyes, she loves spending time with her husband Zach and three children, Addison, Owen, and Micah.
